Envita’s Natural Issues blog is the official blog of Envita Medical Centers of America®. We started this blog to create a discussion forum about natural medicine, including the issues and obstacles that face those involved: the clinics and doctors who practice this medicine, the natural medical community and industry as a whole, and lastly, the patients who choose to do natural care. This blog is also meant to provide support for our patients, as a way for them to stay connected with one another and to share questions, fears, hopes, and experiences.
Natural medicine and the patients who choose to use it are controversial. Surprisingly, there has been no “natural voice” as part of the on-line blogging discourse, until now. Because there are very few who are qualified to blog on the subject, or who are even aware of the issues involved, Envita is in a unique position. We deal with these issues and obstacles every day and are keenly aware of the skepticism and prejudices that are associated with two simple (and often thought, oxymoronic) words: “natural medicine.”
But we believe in the amazing capabilities of advanced natural medicine and have seen it save many lives. We bet our reputation on it every day. Through this blog, we hope to open minds and change the medical system for the better. Hey- why not think big?
Who We are Not
We are not exclusionists or extremists. We work in an integrative model where traditional medicine has an important role. We use traditional medicine when appropriate and where it will help patients. If a patient has a systemic Staph infection, we prescribe antibiotics and don’t leave them holding only a canister of garlic. Or if a patient has crisis high blood pressure, we don’t put them on parsley; we put them on traditional treatments and combine them with our advanced natural ones. We are not in the same category as charlatans who sell herbal supplements over the internet and claim they cure cancer. We use advanced natural medicine, meaning- our treatments go well beyond oral supplementation. They are based on the published, peer-reviewed scientific literature and rely on actual science (imagine that in the world of natural medicine)! And we combine our treatments with the best of traditional medicine.
In fact, many of our doctors have traditional medical degrees. But they are with us because like us, they understand that traditional medicine does not have all the answers. In fact, there are many places where it falls short. We explore some of those issues on this blog.
